  • Visual arts is a type of art that is visual in nature. It evokes emotions through the skill, techniques and imaginative intentions and interpretation used in the artwork. It can be expressed through paintings, drawings, sculpting, photography, films, and many more. 
  • Juan Luna worked on his painting “Spoliarium” when he was in Rome. ​
  • Spoliarium is said the painting represent the condition of the Filipinos under the Spanish government in the past. With this piece, Luna won 3 gold medals at the National  Exposition of Fine Arts in 1884.​
  • Spoliarium currently hangs at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila. 
  • Juan Luna is known for  being a great Filipino painter. He was born on October 23,1857 in BadocIlocos Norte. His most famous painting is named “Spoliarium”
  • Pinagburnayan are pottery pots constructed in Vigan. These clays are known as bantog clays. ​
  • Its name Pinagburnayan was derived from the word burnay. ​
  • Pottery already existed in Ilocos even before Spaniards arrived. However, it wasn’t until 1920s that Chinese immigrants including Fidel Go’s ancestors began making it.​
