• Personal relationships are a form of relationship closely linked to a person and which can only be important to that person.
• There are three kinds of relationships: private and intimate, impersonal, and attractive.
• Physical attraction is based on instinct and can lead to a good or bad relationship.
• Common attractive characteristics on women include wide eyes, high cheekbones, a thin jawline, and a slim build.
• Common attractive characteristics on men include being tall, having broad shoulders, a small waist, and leadership abilities.
• According to Robert Sternberg's triangular love theory, love consists of three components: affection, passion, and dedication or commitment.
• Mutual respect, trust, honesty, support, fairness/equality, and separate identities are healthy and acceptable expressions of attraction.
• Unacceptable expressions of attraction include cheating, putting you down, not supporting your dreams, controlling, lack of communication, unnecessary sacrifices, unreliability, forgetting the memorable day, and self-destruction.
• Destructive behavior which negatively affects you is a major red flag in a relationship.
• Not caring about friends and family is a major strain in a relationship.
