Income and Wealth

• The National equality panel (2010) found that white British households have an average wealth of £221,000 while Bangladeshi households have an average wealth of £15,000
• Rowlingson and McKay (2012) found that white British people in managerial positions have greater levels of wealth than their ethnic minority counterparts in the same positions
• Joseph Rowntree foundation (2007) found that ethnic minorities continue to have lower earnings than white British people
• ONS (2014) found that 2/5 ethnic minorities live in low income households; this is twice the rate of white British people
