Setting Up SSL (Certificate Type):
Use with my own server -> Unmanaged SSL
Use with my 1&1 website -> Managed SSL
Setting Up User-Managed SSL:
The option to download the private key will only appear once in the next page after clicking on Set up SSL
Make sure to download it and always keep it secure in local drive
Once you downloaded the Private key you will need to upload it in your Server
In an example we will upload the private key and assign the SSL to a domain
Upload the PrivateKey download from 1&1 CP
Upload the SSLCertificate (.CER) download from 1&1 CP
Troubleshooting SSL Issues:
Check the site via https
Check HLT if domain is assigned to an SSL
Check DNS record of the assign domain
For IONOS-Managed SSL (A-record & Name Server should be pointing to us)
Check if SSL is working in the domain
For both Managed & Unmanaged, let the customer reissue the SSL certificate in 1&1 ControlPanel.
For Unmanaged that does not offer reissue, advise customers to choose revoke OLD SSL certificate instead.
