tests for gas

• chlorine- bleaches litmus paper
• oxygen- place a glowing splint into a test tube, if O2 present then splint will relight
• CO2- bubbling co2 in aqueous solution of limewater causes it to turn cloudy
• Hydrogen- hold a splint at open end of test tube and if hydrogen is present then squeaky pop will be heard
