    • republic: representatives; promises the cure. To te threat of tyranny of the majority
    • problem with republics:
    • In large republics reps develop their own interests and forget about the people
    • reps represent the majority which can harm the minority
    • Solution: extended republic
    • consists the national gov and state gov
    • Small factions are used to reach compromises and to limit one faction from gaining power

    • comes from Article I (section 2-3) of the constitution
    • impeachment -> removal by majority vote from rep (jury) and 2/3 of senate (judge)
    • Fed 65 says that not necessarily impeachment lead to trial and conviction
