    Studies conducted by liberal feminists have produced evidence proving the level of gender inequality in society. Their work has persuaded reform in areas such as equal pay and employment. They have also helped to demonstrate that gender differences are not biological but as a result of socialisation.
  • EvaluationLiberal feminists are criticised for over optimism. Walby (1997) argues that they see the only obstacles to gender freedom as prejudices of individuals and ignore the possibility of structures such as capitalism or patriarchy.
