  • Childhood is toxic
With parents working, children are left to their own devices and are missing out on important socialisation. Parents replace love and attention with material goods, replace healthy, nutritious meals with fast food and allow children to spend too long on sedentary activities (watching TV, on computers and phones) because parents do not have the time or energy to ensure the child gets out and about for exercise and physical activity. This is creating a toxic childhood with a steep rise in childhood obesity and mental health issues.
  • Childhood is toxic
You can link this to Marxist view of family - the parents must work to meet the demands of the child, which is being fed to the children through the media (owned by the ruling class)
