Act 1

• Scene 1 - Street: Jan and Mark discuss that someone is "dead". In media res. 1st word "dead" = repeated, monosyllabic words imply nervousness.
• Scene 2 - A field: Leah talks and Phil eats. Leah shows her insecurity. Jan + Mark enter to take Phil + Leah somewhere
• Scene 3 - The woods: John Tate attempts to keep the group together. Jan and Mark explain the events leading up to Adam falling through the grille. Phil devises a plan to frame a non-existent person.
• Scene 4 - A field: Leah's monologue reflects on bonobos being our nearest relatives. Metaphor for the group. Microcosm for society.
