Normally when witnessed violent actions we experienced physiological arousal associated with the sympathetic nervous system such as increased heart rate and higher blood pressure
But when children in particular repeatedly view aggression on TV or by playing video games→ become habituated to the effects of aggression and the physiological arousal caused by it
A stimulus that was aversive before ,after repeated reviewing → less of an impact →less physiological arousal than before and less anxiety → feel more comfortable with aggression
desensitisation also has a psychological impact.
repeated exposure to violent media → belief that using aggression resolve conflicts is social acceptable →more aggression
