Amplitude

• Amplitude is the maximum displacement of the particles of the medium from the starting point (how far it moves)
• The more energy there is, the greater the amplitude
• Transverse waves are measured from the midline to the crest OR trough.
• Closer, denser compressions in longitudinal waves show more energy, which makes greater amplitude
