  • Infinitive or present - is the base form of a verb, preceded by TO
  • Past - the simplest form of a verb, it is used to show action that has already taken place.
  • Past participle - is the form of a verb takes when it is accompanied by an auxiliary verb to show complex past tense form.
  • Active verbs - tell what the subject does
  • Passive verbs - tell what is done by the subject
  • Regular verbs - used to form the past tense by adding suffix -d and -ed.
  • Irregular verbs - The past tense for this verbs is formed by changing internally.
  • Verb tenses - are used to show time, tells when events happen, happened, or will happen.
  • Present tense - express an action that is repeated or ongoing. It can also express an action that is happening at this moment.
  • Past tense - action that has already happened. It is formed by adding -ed or -d to the base form.
  • Future tense - action that will take place in the future. It is formed by adding will to the base form.
  • present perfect tense - action that took place at some unspecified time in the past, began in the past and continues in the present.

  • past perfect tense - action in the past began and ended before another action in the past started.
  • past perfect - had
  • future perfect tense - action in the future will begin and end before another event in the future starts.

  • present progressive tense - ongoing events that is happening at the moment of speaking or writing.
  • present progressive - am, is, are + ing
  • past progressive tense - past event that was happening when another event occurred.
  • past progressive - was or were + ing
  • future progressive tense - ongoing or continuous event that will take a place in the future.
  • future progressive - will be or shall be + ing
  • present perfect progressive - show an event that began in the past, continues in the present, and may continue in the future.
  • Present perfect progressive - has been or have been + ing
  • Past perfect progressive - had been + ing
  • Past perfect progressive - ongoing events that was completed before another past event.
  • Future perfect progressive - will have been + ing
  • Future perfect progressive - ongoing event that will happen before a specified future time.
