• What did Vesalius do?


  He stole criminals bodies and performed live dissections going against Galen. He improved understanding of the body and anatomy
• What did Paré do?


  He invented ligatures and worked on prosthetics.
• What did Harvey do?

  He proved Galen wrong by discovering it was the heart that pumped blood, not the liver, and further developed human anatomy following Vesalius
• What did Jenner do?


  He discovered the first vaccine for smallpox after investigating milkmaids, which eventually became compulsory.
• What did Pasteur do?

  He discovered the Germ Theory, disproving Spontaneous Generation and other previous beliefs, after first being employed into the wine industry
• What did Koch do?


  He built upon Pasteurs ideas by discovering individual bacterias such as cholera and tuberculosis
• What did Lister do?


  He linked the Germ Theory to bacteria during surgeries and developed carbolic spray (antiseptic) to clean wounds. He was opposed for physical and scientific reasons.
• What did Ehrlich do?


  He helped with the first magic bullet (Salvarsan 606, the chemical cure for syphilis) with funds from the government.
• What did Chadwick do?


  He was appointed to investigate living conditions and health, specifically of the poor, and wanted serious changes (activating the first public health act of 1848)
• What did Snow do?


  Through a survey, he discovered that the water pump on Broad Street was causing people to get cholera. He removed the pump and it was later found out that a cesspit had leaked into it.
• What did Bazalgette do?

  Bazalgette was responsible for the construction of the new London Sewer Systems after the Great Stink, which resulted in cholera never returning to London.
• What did Florey and Chain do?


  After Flemings discovery of penicillin, they developed it and experimented with it on humans. Eventually this lead to the mass production of penicillin, the first antibiotic that went on to save many lives.
