  • Asthma is the most common chronic lung condition. Allergic asthma typically begins in childhood. Asthma attacks happen when the airways tighten and narrow, slowing down air flow. The lungs also become swollen and inflamed.
  • CHRONIC OBSTRUCTION PULMONARY DISEASE (COPD)
airways that occurs in varying degrees (see stages in this article) manifested in a variety of ways often exhibiting components as chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and/or asthma. This obstruction of airflow may be progressive, worsening over time
  • Pneumonia
is a lung infection that can be caused by different types of microorganisms, including bacteria,
  •  Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious illness that mainly affects the lungs. The germs that cause tuberculosis are a type of bacteria. Tuberculosis can spread when a person with the illness coughs, sneezes or sings. This can put tiny droplets with the germs into the air. Another person can then breathe in the droplets, and the germs enter the lungs
  •  Lung cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the lungs. Your lungs are two spongy organs in your chest that take in oxygen when you inhale and release carbon dioxide when you exhale.Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide.
  •  Pulmonary edema literally means an excess collection of watery fluid in the lungs. (pulmonary=lung+edema=excess fluid). However, the lung is a complex organ, and there are many causes of this excess fluid accumulation. Regardless of the cause, fluid makes it difficult for the lungs to function (to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide with cells in the bloodstream).
  •  Influenza (flu) is an acute viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. It is a common cause of acute respiratory illness and can affect people of all ages.
  •  Bronchitis is a condition that develops when the windpipe (bronchial tube) gets irritated or inflamed. In response to the inflammation, the lining of the bronchial tube may make too much mucus as it tries to coat the area. The mucus can make it difficult to breath.
  •  Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited, life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive tract. It is caused by a defective gene that triggers the production of thickened mucus that clogs airways and blocks the secretion of digestive enzymes
