  • General News
    • this consists of reports of world, national, and provincial events. The headline, printed in big bold letters across the newspaper, is the title of the day's most important news. It is found on the front page. The titles of less important news reports are written in smaller bold letters.
  • An opinion is a judgement, viewpoint, or statement that is not conclusive, rather than facts which is are true statements.
  • An informed opinion is a belief, judgement or way of thinking about something based on information.
  • Exposition
    • introduces the character(s) and the setting of the story
  • Conflict
    • does not only tell about the problem in the story but also shows how the character(s) struggle
  • Rising Action
    • these are events that lead to a climax. These also increase the tension in the story
  • Climax
    • it may be one or many problems that create the high point of the story. It usually foretells the ending of the story
  • Falling Action
    • it is an element when the tension decreases and everything begins to settle down
  • Resolution
    • it occurs after the plot. It is when you discover what happens to the characters after the conflict is settled
    • It also tells the end of the story
  • Characters
    • people, animals, or objects who make the action happen in a story
  • Protagonist
    • the central character(main character)
    • the "good guy" or hero
  • Antagonist
    • creates conflict for the protagonist
    • the "bad guy" or villain
  • Setting
    • time and place of the story
  • Plot
    • series of related events that make up the story
