What is diffusion
the movement of particles from an area of high concentration to low concentration down a concentration gradient

How does surface area effect diffusion
the larger the surface area the shorter the time
how does temperature effect diffusion
the higher the temperature the quicker the rate of diffusion

when water enters a plant cell and pushes on the cell wall causing the cell to swell(upright plant)
what is flaccid(plasmolysed)
when water leaves the plant cell and the contents shrink and the cell membrane pulls away from the cell wall(wilting plant)
