Tissues (Plants and Animals)

• Tissue - Group of same or mixed type of cells having common origin and specialized function
• HISTOLOGY - science that deals with tissues
• Plant tissue can be Maristematic Tissue (Maristem) or Permanent Tissues
• Maristematic Tissues (divided through life) can be Apical Maristem, Lateral Maristem, and Intercalary Maristem
• Permanent tissue (lost ability to divide further) can be Simple or Complex Tissue
• Simple Tissue has 3 classification: Parenchyma, Collenchyma, Sclerenchyma
• Complex Tissue has 2 classification: Xylem and Phloem
