  • Arnis - originated in the Philippines; developed by the indigenous populations; traditionally involved rattan, swords, daggers and spears; can be performend individually or by pair
  • Cane or Baton - primary weapons used in this traditional martial art

  • Head Protector - pair of protective head gear to include an impact-worthy face mask
  • Body Protector - pair of cushions to avoid injuries and be according to the i-ARNIS; groin and body protectors, forearms and chin guards
  • Playing Area - a square measuring 8x8m with 2m minimum free zone around it and a clear space without obstruction up to a height of not less than 5m from the playing surface

  • Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation - governing body of Arnis in the Philippines
  • Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri - authored and spearheaded the law declaring Arnis as the national sport of the country; chairman of PEKAF
  • President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo - approved and signed the law declaring Arnis as the national sport of the country
