  Breaks Cl-Cl bond to form 2Cl radicals, in the presence of uv light

  Cl radical then attacks CH4 to form methyl radical and HCL methyl radical reacts with CL molecule to form Chloromethane + Cl radical

  2 Free radicals react to form 1 product
