    • the whole practice method is when the skill is taught in one movement with no breakdown
    • the part practice method is when a skill is broken down and learnt in parts
    • the progressive part method is when the skill is learnt and practiced separately and then combined into larger parts and then a whole skill
    • the whole part whole practice method is when the skill is performed fully and then broken down and then practiced separately to be put back together as one movement
    • massed practice is when the long sessions have no rests and the skill is repeated to develop a habit
    • distributed practice is when the short sessions have rest periods to allow physical and mental recovery
    • fixed practice is specific movement practice (mainly closed skills) through training drills
    • variable practice is when you're practicing one skill (mainly open skills) in different environments to be able to adapt in game situations
    • mental practice is done to prepare someone before a performance, it allows for focus and increasing confidence by visualising the movement
