  • Energy is defined as the ability to do work. When work is done, energy is transferred from one object to another. Energy exists from different forms such as electrical and chemical energy. Most forms of energy can be classified as kinetic energy and potential energy.
  • Kinetic Energy is the energy of moving matter. They can do work and it depends on the object's mass and velocity.
  • Potential Energy is the energy store in an object because of it's position or shape.
  • Renewable Sources
    • Geothermal
    • Hydroelectric
    • Wind Power
    • Solar Cell
    • Biomass
  • Geothermal power utilizes the heat energy from the earth's crust. This heat energy heats up rocks which in turn heats up nearby groundwater and creates energy.
  • Hydroelectric power is derived from the energy of falling or moving water generate electricity.
  • Wind Power uses wind to produce electricity.
  • Solar Cells uses sunlight for energy.
  • Biomass refers to the use of organic matter to turn into energy.
  • Non-Renewable Sources
    • Fossil Fuels
    • Electrochemicals
  • Fossil Fuels have been formed over the last 600 Million Years. Example is coal.
  • Electrochemichals uses chemical reactions to create electricity.
