Transpiration:
The
loss
of
water vapor
from the
leaves
The
higher
the
temperature
the greater the
kinetic
energy
of water molecules and the greater the rate of
evaporation
leading to
higher
transpiration.
High humidity
decreases
the
water potential gradient
between the
leaf
and the
atmosphere
and the rate of transpiration
decreases.
Wind speed: Removing
water molecules
will maintain a
steep concentration.
Transpiration Stream: The
movement
of
water
from the
roots
to the
leaves
through the
xylem.
Transpiration pull: the
suction
,
force
or
pull
that draws water
up
through the plant.
Wilting: The process of
losing water
from the
plant
and causing the plant to
wilt.
