• Describe Active transport:

  • Movement of particles from low to high concentration (against concentration gradient)
  • Requires energy from the breakdown of ATP (energy)
  • Substances include: Glucose, amino acids, ions (K/Na Pump)
• Describe Passive transport:

  • Movement of particles from an area of high to low concentration (along concentration gradient)
  • No energy required
