Greenhouse Effects and globaal warming

Cards (12)

  • The term greenhouse is given to a glasshouse that is constructed to keep delicate and rare plants. When sunlight enters the glasshouse through the glass panels, its impossible for the sunrays to get out, which makes the greenhouse warmer than the outside enviorment
  • In the atmosphere there are gases like carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and water vapour (H2O). These gases trap heat from the sun inside the earth's atmosphere.
  • These gases act as insulation around the Earth, keeping it warm enough for life to exist on our planet. This process is called the greenhouse effect.
  • Gases like co2, methane, ozone, nitrogen oxide, chlorofluorocarbons and water vapour trap heat from the sun to keep the earth warm. These gades are greenhouse gases.
  • This causes an increase in temperature at ground level, known as global warming
  • The greenhouse gases form a sheild around earth. This stops heat from escaping and keeps earths temperature at around 33 degrees. This keeps earth warm and hospitable for everything living on it.
  • Nowadays, due to increased human activities like driving cars, more greenhouse gasses are being released onto earth making its temperature level higher. This is known as the greenhouse effect.
  • Causes of greenhouse effects are- burning of fossil fuels, deforestration, increasi
  • Causes of greenhouse effects are- burning of fossil fuels, deforestration, increase in population, increase in pollution, using of chemical fertilizera in farms, etc
  • Increase in temperature is leading to ozone depletion and global warming
  • Increase in global warming because of greenhouse effect is known as global warming. Rlobal warming is an enhanced version of greenhouse effect.
  • The rise in average temperature on earth due ro the constant increase in concentration of greenhouse gases is known as global warming
