Devolution

• Scotland Act 1998, Wales Act 1998, and Northern Ireland Act 1998

  Created the devolved parliaments for each nation

  They have been amended by various Acts but they still wholely exist
• Scotland Act of 2016 and the St David Day agreement

  Set out amendments to the Scotland Act 1998 and devolves power to Scotland. Recommended that the national assembly should have the legal authority to lower the voting age to 16
• West Midlands Combined Authority Order 2016

  Established the West Midlands combined authority with the East Midlands to grow economies in their regions

  Helps councils with economic policies
• English Votes for English Laws 2015

  Set of procedures of the HOC where legislation that only affects England requires the support of the majority of English MPs

  Abolished by the HOC in July 2021 - when covid hit
