Culture is the way of life for a social group, which is shaped through norms, values & beliefs
Margaret Mead was an American Anthropologist who studies tribes in Samoa & New Guinea
Margaret Mead wrote the "Sex & Temperament in the Primitive Societies" in 1935
Mead studied the male & female behaviour and gender role expectations in different tribes (cultures)
In the Arapesh Tribe, both females & males were gentle
In the Mundugumor Tribe, both gender were really aggressive
In the Tchambuli Tribe, males & females were very different from each other as the roles were opposite to those in the UK & USA (males were emotionally dependent & females were more dominant)
