Aims of Socialisation

• One aim of socialisation is to instil discipline - safety & social control (e.g. Don't walk in front of a moving car)
• Another aim of socialisation is to develop aspiration & ambitions (Future Jobs)
• Another aim of socialisation is to develop key skills (reading, driving etc.)
• Another aim of socialisation is to enable the acquisition (understanding) of social roles (male, female, helper worker)
