Draw a horizontal pencil line on chromatography paper.
Mark five pencil spots for samples.
Use a capillary tube to apply samples.
Pour water into a beaker as solvent.
Attach paper to a glass rod and lower it into the beaker.
Ensure the pencil line is above water.
Avoid touching the sides of the beaker.
Cover the beaker to reduce evaporation.
Remove paper when water reaches 3/4 up.
Mark the water level and hang to dry.
