• Feeding relationships in a community can be shown in food chains
• All food chains begin with a produces (usually a green plant) - which synthesises proteins
• What are producers eaten by?

  Primary consumers
• What are primary consumers eaten by?

  secondary consumers
• What are secondary consumers eaten by?

  tertiary consumers
• What are feeding levels known as?

  trophic levels
• Trophic levels can be represented by numbers - starting with level one
• What are consumers that eat other animals known as?

  Predators
• What are top consumers known as?

  Apex predators - they are carnivores with not predators
• The number of predators and prey in a stable community rise and fall in cycles - this can be shown in a predator pray graphy
• Molecules such as glucose , are called biomass and pass down the food chain to other organisms - producers are the source of all the biomass in a community
