The nervous system consists of two main parts, the
central nervous system
(CNS) and the
peripheral nervous system
(PNS).
The CNS includes the
brain
and
spinal cord
, while the PNS includes
all other nerves outside these structures.
The CNS is made up of the
brain
and
spinal cord.
The
PNS
includes all other nerves
outside
the CNS.
Motor neurons
carry signals from the
CNS
to
effectors
such as
muscles
or
glands.
Sensory neurons
carry information from
sensory receptors
to the
CNS.
What are sense organs?
Groups of receptor cells that respond to specific stimuli
What do sense organs do?
They detect
a
change
in the
environment
and
stimulate electrical
impulses
in
response
