Substrate-level phosphorylation - Respiration

    Cards (1)

      • This is when a phosphate group is transferred from a substrate molecule to ADP in order to produce ATP.
      • This is the method of producing ATP used in both glycolysis and the Krebs cycle (see later).
      • For example, triose phosphate is a phosphate source in glycolysis.
      • This method is unusual in that it does not require ATP synthase (it uses a different enzyme you don’t need to know the name of).
