Malthus vs Boserup theory

• The Malthus theory states that:

  1. The population would grow quicker than the food produced would.
  2. This would cause famine, Illness and war.
  3. The population would wobble around the amount of food produced when looking at a graph.
• The Boserup theory states that:

  1. However big the population got, new technology would be able to sustain it.
  2. People would find new ways to increase efficiency of food growth and distribution.
• The Malthus theory was made in 1798 by Thomas Malthus.
• The Boserup theory was made in 1965 by the Danish economist, Ester Boserup.
• Why is the Boserup theory more accepted than the Malthus theory?

  2. Predictions made have been more accurate.
