• samuel de champlin- founder of fur trading post at quebec: became the first permanent french settlement ( new france )
• florida became the battlegrounds between the spanish and french
• religious differences and english piracies against spanish trade -> conflict
• effects of the conflict between spanish and english: 1 england remained protestant & proved it could defend itself 2 the world saw that spain could be beaten
