  • Spinal deformities: progress slowly, and are unnoticed until symptoms arise. 
  • Etiology: congenital defects, poor posture, bone disease, and growth disorders.
  • Symptoms: back pain and fatigue. 
  • Diagnosis: physical examination and series of X-rays of the spine. If breathing is affected, a pulmonary function test may be needed. If a tumor or infection is suspected an MRI can assist
  • Treatment: elimination or treating causative factors, bracing and spinal surgery.
  • Prevention: no known prevention.
