PMAT of mitosis

Cards (5)

  • Prophase: 1st stage of mitosis. Chromatin condenses into visible chromosomes. the nuclear membrane dissolves. centriole move to opposite poles and start to make spindle fibers. the spindle fibers attach to centromeres
  • Metaphase: 2nd stage of mitosis. spindle fibers pull chromosomes to the middle of the cell (equatorial or metaphase plate)
  • Anaphase: 3rd phase of mitosis. the centromeres divide and the chromatids are pulled to opposite poles.
  • Telophase: 4th phase of mitosis. The nuclear membrane reforms around the chromosomes at both ends. spindle fibers dissolve and the chromosomes uncoil back into chromatin.
  • Cytokinesis: division of the cytoplasm into two identical cells
