Prophase: 1st stage of mitosis.Chromatin condenses into visible chromosomes. the nuclear membrane dissolves.centriole move to opposite poles and start to make spindlefibers. the spindle fibers attach to centromeres
Metaphase: 2nd stage of mitosis.spindle fibers pull chromosomes to the middle of the cell (equatorial or metaphase plate)
Anaphase: 3rd phase of mitosis. the centromeres divide and the chromatids are pulled to opposite poles.
Telophase: 4th phase of mitosis. The nuclear membrane reforms around the chromosomes at both ends. spindle fibers dissolve and the chromosomes uncoil back into chromatin.
Cytokinesis: division of the cytoplasm into two identical cells
