Postmodernists may argue that in a globalised and media-saturated society (e.g. the contemporary UK today), identity is all about choice - everyone can create their own identity
Postmodernists argue that identity is all about choice & is becoming less significant and less clear-cut
However, some would disagree with Postmodernists, arguing that ethnicity and race are still sources of discrimination and majorly affect identity (so it is not a choice)
