  • Masking Tape - This is used for fastening the drawing paper on the drawing table or drawing board because it does not damage the board and it will not damage the paper of it is removed by pulling it off.
  • Eraser - This is used to clean the dirt off the drawing.
  • Hard Pencils - Are used where extreme accuracy is required especially working on graphs, diagrams, and charts.
  • Medium Pencils - Are used for general purpose work in drawing.
  • Soft Pencils - Are too soft to be used in mechanical drafting. They are useful for art work and various kinds.
  • Triangular Scales - This tool is generally used when reproducing a drawing in an enlarged or reduced form to some regular proportion.
  • Erasing Shield - This tool is made up of metal with irregular holes. It is a useful tool to protect the rest of the drawing when clearing up smudges, unnecessary pencil lines and other erasures.
  • T-Square - It is a drawing instrument used when making horizontal lines.
  • Fixed Head - The head is fastened to the blade. It is used for ordinary work.
  • Adjustable Or Movable Head - It has one fixed Head and one adjustable head and used only for occasional drawing.
  • Detachable Or Removable Head - It is designed for comfort when carrying the T-square.
  • Triangle - It is a three-sided ruler, which typically has two equal sided meeting at a 90 degree angle and to a third sided at 45, 30, including 60 degree angles.
  • Compass - This drawing instrument is used when drawing arcs and circles.
  • Divider - This a drawing instrument used when transferring measurements, dividing lines, and arcs.
  • Protractor - It is a semi-circular instrument divided into 180 equal parts, each of which is called degree.
  • Drawing Table - Used for any kind of drawing, writing, or impromptu sketching on a large sheet of paper.
  • Penknife - This tool should be sharpened whenever they show signs of dullness.
  • Square - Is a four-sided figure which is created by connecting 4 equal line segments.
  • Circle - Another shape of geometry and has no straight lines. It is rather a combination of curves that are connected. There are no angles to be found.
  • Polygons - Are made up of only lines and has no curves. It does not have any open parts.
  • Parallelogram - Is another in the geometric shapes in which the opposite side of the shape are parallel.
  • Oval - Is a stretched out circle where the radius is shorter on the axis than the other.
  • Visible Line - A thick line that represents the visible edges or outline of the object. It is often called as Object Line.
  • Hidden Lines - A medium thick line composed of short dashes about 2-3 millimeters long with space between dashes about 1 millimeters long wide. It represents the part or plane of the object that cannot be seen directly by the observer.
  • Center Line - A thin line consisting of two long dashes and short dash drawn alternately with a gap of at least 2 millimeters in between. It represents the central portion of a circular object.
  • Dimension Lines - A thin line with an arrowhead in one end used to indicate the measurements of the object.
  • Extension Lines - A thin line that extends from the object in order to show dimension limits.
  • Section Lines - A thin line used to show the surface that has been cut. They are space evenly 45 degrees with the horizontal to make shaded effect.
  • Long Break Lines - A medium thick line consisting of broken and straight lines drawn alternately. This is known as the limiting line. This limits the length of an elongated object without changing the size of its view.
  • Short Break Lines - A thick line drawn in freehand to show details that a part has been cut off or broken off.
  • Leader Lines - A short inclined thin line with an arrowhead at the end and short horizontal line on the other hand
  • Phantom Or Ditto Lines - A thin line that shows position(s) of part of an object that moves, drawn by two short dashes and one long dash.
  • Cutting Plane Lines - A thick line used to indicate an imaginary cut through an object along the line. It is made up of two long dashes broken in one end with an arrowhead and two short dashes drawn in between the long dashes.
  • Orthographic Drawing - Is a three-view plan which consists of the top view, front view, and the right side view.
  • The word Orthographic comes from the Greek word "Orthos" and "Graphos" meaning a "straight line drawing".
  • Pictorial Drawing - Is a representation of an accurate form of a design showing a series of exterior views in isometric, oblique, and perspective of drawing.
  • Perspective Drawing - A type of drawing wherein the object is drawn as seen by the observer.
  • Isometric Drawing - A pictorial drawing showing the three surfaces of the object tilted 30 degrees in front of the observer.
  • Oblique Drawing - This is a type similar to one-point perspective drawing. The only difference is that two of its axes are perpendicular to each other such as that one of its plane is parallel to the ground.
  • BIRD'S EYE VIEW: The view point in which the object on the upper eye level of an observer.
