• Basic event in reproduction is creation of a DNA copy .
• Chromosomes : contain information for inheritence of of features from parents .
• Basic events in cellular reproduction: karyokinesis and cytokinesis.
• Alterations in DNA →change in protein → change in body design .
• Variation is difference between individuals within a species.
• Variation leads to evolution and help organism to survive in different habitats
