conservation and preservation

• Conservation means to maintain the biodiversity of an area while still using it for it’s resources, this also involves restoring damaged ecosystems.
• Preservation means to protect an ecosystem or area by stopping human interference.
• Sustainable resource – A resource that is exploited in away that they will not run out.

  • Preserve the environment
  • Ensure resources are available in future
  • Allow humans to live comfortably
  • Allow LEDC’s to develop using their natural resources
• Non-renewable resources - Resources which cannot be replaced once used up e.g. fossil fuels (oil, coal, gas).
• Renewable resources - Resources which can be replenished over time e.g. solar energy, wind power, water.
