What are the 3 functions of the cardiovascular system?
Transport of
oxygen
,
carbon dioxide
and
nutrients
Clotting
of open wounds
Regulation
of body temperature
Transport of oxygen, carbon dioxide and nutrients
blood delivers
oxygen
and carries away waste products such as
carbon dioxide
and Latic acid
during exercise the need to remove these waste products from the body
increase
Temperature regulation
too hot
vasodilation
takes place and too cold
vasoconstriction
takes place
during exercise the body regulates more
heat
to it is even more important to regulate temperature so people don't
overheat
Clotting of open wounds
Platelets
in the blood form clots
this stops the body
losing
an excessive amount of blood
during exercise the risk of a cut is
increased
therefore clotting is important in ensuring that injuries are not life threatening
