  • The Filipino Artists' Role is four-fold
    The Personal: The artist expresses what he or she feels
    The Social: The artist expresses what he or she sees around him/her
    The Physical: The artist finds a need to create something not only pleasingto look something useful as well
    The Immaterial: the artist gives form to the immaterial, the hidden truth of the universe and the spiritual force that inhabits the world

  • Gawad ng Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA)
    Republic Act 7395 or the Gawad ng Manlilikha ng Bayan was institutionalized in April 1992. It was created to honor and give duerecognition to our National Living Treasures
  • To be a GAMABA awardee:
    An individual or group candidate must have amastery to create or perform the traditionalfolk art. This traditional folk art must have beenin existence and documented for at least 50years
