    • Rules of volleyball are to score a point, to win a set, and to win the match
    • The toss, happens before the match when the 1st referee carries out a ____ to decide upon the first service and the sides of the court in the first set
    • Server must serve from behind the restraining line until after the contact
    • Ball may served underhand or overhand
    • Ball must be clearly visible to opponents before serve
    • Served ball may graze the net and drop to the other side for point
    • First game serve is determined by a volley, each subsequent game shall be served by the previous game loser
    • Ball in play - the ball is in play from the moment of the hit of the service authorized by the first referee
    • Ball out of play - the ball is out of the play from the moment of the fault which is whistled by the referee
    • Ball in play - the ball is in when it touches the floor at the playing court including the boundary
    • Ball out of play - it touches an object outside the court, the ceiling or a person out of play
    • The team will rotate each time they win the serve
    • Players shall rotate in a clockwise manner
    • There shall be 4-6 players on each side
    • Each team consists of six players
    • Maximum of three hits per side
    • Players may not hit the ball twice in succession
    • A block is not considered a hit
    • A ball touching a boundary line is good
    • A player must not block or attack a serve
    • One of the basic violation is stepping on or over the line on a serve
    • One of the basic violation is failure to serve the ball over the net successfully
    • One of the basic violation is failure to serve in correct order
    • Ace - when the ball is served to the other side team and no one touches it.
    • Side Out - when the team that served the ball makes a mistake, causing the ball to go to the other team.
    • Roof - when the player jumps above the height of the net, and block the ball.
    • Stuff - when the player jumps about to the height of the net, blocks the ball, and the ball goes back at the person who attacked( spiked) the ball
    • Dig - when a player makes a save from a very hard difficult spike.
    • Kill - when a team spikes the ball and it either ends in a point or a side out
