  • Presentation - is made up of series of slides that can contain starch graphs bulleted list text video sound clip and more

    • Can also use powerpoint to:
    • Print handouts for audience
    • Create notes for yourself to aid in delivery of presentation
    • Create interactive presentation as well as time presentation to concise with your talk
  • Quick access toolbar - is a customizable toolbar that contains commands that you frequently use you can also add items on the toolbar
  • File tab -let you access the backstage view which gives you several options for saving opening printing or sharing your file
  • Ribbon - the panel at the top portion of the document it has eight types namely home insert design transitions animation slideshow review and view
  • Outline or slide pane - shows the slides in your presentation as thumbnails side miniature images while you edit
  • Slide view - by clicking this you can change the slide view it can be normal view slide short review reading view and slideshow view
  • Scroll bar - to navigate the slides in your presentation
  • Placeholders - are boxes with dotted borders that hold content in its place on a slide layout
  • Slide pane - shows the slide as it will look during your slideshow it serves as your work area
  • Notes pane - this is where you type notes to accompany a specific slide
  • Starting Powerpoint
    1. Using start button - click the start button on the taskbar on the list of program look for powerpoint click the powerpoint icon.
    2. Using search bar - on the search bar located on the taskbar type powerpoint

  • Creating a new presentation
    -when beginning a new project and powerpoint you'll often want to start with a new blank presentation
    1. Select the file tab to access backstage view
    2. Select new on the left slide of the window then click blank presentation
    3. A new presentation will appear
  • Creating a new presentation from a template
    -A template is a predesigned presentation you can use to create a new slideshow quickly
    1. Click the file tab to access backstage view then select new
    2. You can click or suggested search to find templates or use to search bar to find something more specific in our example will search for the keyword chalkboard
  • Template - is a predesign presentation you can use to create a new slideshow quickly
  • Slide show - is a series of slides
  • Transition - refers to the way each new slide appears on the screen
  • Animation - is an effect you can apply to text objects graphics or pictures to make those objects move during a slideshow
  • Normal view - allows you to add and delete slides and add text and elements to slide
  • Home tab -is the default on the ribbon and includes many of the commands you will use most often
  • You can view presentations in five ways
    • Normal view -where you do most of your work
    • Reading view -slide almost fills the screen
    • Slide sorter view -displays thumbnails of your slides so you can easily rearrange them
    • Slideshow view -your presentation is shown full screen as if being seen by an audience
    • Notes page view -display slides on top of the page and speaker notes below
    • You can choose a layout when you insert a new slide or change the layout of an existing slide
    • Slide layout - how objects are placed on a slide
    • Objects - text images illustrations tables media and charts
    • Default layout - includes placeholders for titles text and content
  • Deleting slides
    • In normal view display the slide you want to delete press delete on the keyboard
    • You can also delete the slide by right clicking the slide and click delete slide on the shortcut menu
    • If you accidentally delete the slide click the undo delete slide button on the click access toolbar to restore the slide
  • Ribbon - contains commands for the task you will use when creating presentation
  • Live preview - teacher lets you preview a themes before applying it in your presentation
  • Slide pane - is the work bench for powerpoint presentation displaying slides in a large work area
  • In normal view you can have up to four panes
    • Slide tabs and outline tabs - show some thumbnails of your slides and outline tab shows text in an outline format
    • Slide pane - displace one slide at a time and offers an opportunity to edit text.
    • Notes pane - where you add speaker notes
    • Task pane - opens up on the right for some task such as inserting clip art  
  • Notes page view - displays your slides on the top of the page with speaker appearing in the blank pane on the bottom of the page
  • Reading view - lets you view a presentation as if it's shown in slideshow view but within the application window versus full screen
  • Slide sorter view - displays thumbnails of the slides so that you can move and arrange lines easily by clicking and dragging
  • Slide sorter view - gives you an overview of the entire presentation
  • Slideshow view -  you run your presentation on your computers as if it were a slide projector
  • Powerpoint presentation can contain as many slides as you need to slide navigation pain on the left side of the screen makes it easier to organize your slide from there you can duplicate rearrange and delete slide in your presentation
  • Duplicate slides if you want to copy and paste a slide quickly you can duplicate it to duplicate slides select the slide you want to duplicate right click the mouse and choose duplicate slides from the menu that appears you can also duplicate multiples slides at once by selecting them first
  • Move slides it's easy to change the order of your slides just click and drag the desired slide in the slide navigation pane to the desired position
  • Delete slides if you want to remove a slide from your presentation you can delete it by simply select the slide you want to delete then press the delete or backspace key on your keyboard
