    • The experimental method involves manipulating one variable to determine if this causes changes in another variable.
    • Research aims are general statements about what the researcher intends to investigate (the purpose of the study)
    • The independent variable is what is being changed/manipulated within the study
    • The dependent variable is what is being measured within the study, it should be caused by the IV
    • To operationalise a variable means to be precise and clear in what is being manipulated or measured. It must be testable and repeatable.
