  • No plumbing and limited water supply, most water is dirty.
  • No rubbish collection which causes pollution and rats. ​
  • No electricity so people steal it which causes fires.
  • Shared toilets and waste which flows into the Mithi River, creating a stagnant and toxic water supply, attracting mosquitoes.
  • There are many people begging and pick-pocketing.
  • Unemployment rate is high, most work is casual and low-paying.​
  • Most houses are built on unsafe land which is prone to flooding and landslides.
  • Houses are illegal and can be destroyed by the government at any time. They may fall down due to being built out of scrap materials. ​
