  • At the start of the play she refers to her parents as “Mummy“ and “Daddy” but at the end she states “Mother and “Father” reflecting how her character changes throughout the play
  • Sheila is presented as a naive and innocent victim of the patriarchy, and her naivety is used to highlight the power of men.
  • At the beginning of the play, Sheila seems to accept her position as an objectified woman who exists solely to please men.
  • Throughout the play sheila begins to develop her own opinions and is becoming more assertive. This can be seen when she quotes "These girls aren't cheap labour, they're people"
