• Nitrogenous waste- excess protein can't be stored and is deaminated (broken down) in the liver
• Water- by product of cellular respiration and condenstaion reactions
• Excess ions- Removed by diffusion or active transport
• Metabolic heat is generated as by-product from metabolic reactions

  Must be removed to ensure the correct temp is maintained for enzyme reaction to occur
