• Strength: Useful in describing measurable tendencies
• Strength: Some studies support his theory that criminality is heightened by extraversion, neuroticism and psychoticism. 
• Weakness: Farrington examined criminals and found high psychoticism and neuroticism but not extraversion
• Weakness: The extraversion scale measures impulsiveness and sociability. Criminals rank high on the impulsiveness but not sociability
• Weakness: Correlation but possibly not causation
• Weakness: Convicted offenders are not typical offenders. Less impulsive offenders are less likely to be caught
• Weakness: Self report studies may not produce valid results due to the possibility of lying.
