  • Balanced forces act at a constant speed. A resultant force is a single force that has the same action as two or more forces acting on an object.
  • Objects accelerate in the same direction as a resultant force. If the object is already moving the opposite way it will slow down.
  • The forces act on two different objects. Each object exerts an equal and opposite force on the other object.
  • Acceleration and mass are inversely proportional - as mass doubles, acceleration halves.
  • Alcohol affects the driver, which means that it would increase the thinking distance rather than braking distance. Icy roads would increase braking distance.
