      E) Diaphragm
      F) Trachea
      G) Bronchioles
      H) Bronchi
    • The lungs are two sacs which allow oxygen from the atmosphere to be inhaled and carbon dioxide from the body to be exhaled
    • The bronchi branch off the trachea and allow air to be transported from between the lungs and atmosphere
    • The bronchioles connect the alveoli to the bronchi and allow air to pass through them
    • The alveoli is the site of gas exchange with blood. This allows oxygen and carbon dioxide to be transported between the lungs and the muscles
    • The diaphragm is a dome-shaped muscle under the ribs which contracts and relaxes to change the capacity of the thoracic cavity, and therefore causes inhalation and exhalation
